THE victory party will have to wait a little longer, but Bels are as good as Priaulx Cup winners for the sixth time in their history.

Ian Champion’s men came away from their last big test – away to title rivals St Martin’s – with a 1-1 draw and they could clinch the title next weekend if results go the right way.

‘We are pleased to get a result here,’ Champion said after a game at Blanche Pierre Lane in which Saints’ island defender Tom Strawbridge was sent off for two yellow cards.

‘Today, I thought we were the better team and I am really proud of what we did out there.

‘It would have been a travesty if Marc McGrath had scored at the end there. If we had got nothing from that game, I would have been gutted.’

Saints boss Colin Fallaize was not best pleased with the referee afterwards.
