HEATHER WATSON and partner Naomi Broady have qualified for the main draw of the doubles at the Tangipahoa Women’s ITF Pro Tennis Tournament in Hammond, Louisiana.

The British pair overcame American duo Jacqueline Cako and Courtney B. Dolehide

6-4, 6-3 in their qualifying match.

They now face fellow qualifiers Chieh-Yu Hsu and Petra Rampre in the first round.

Meanwhile, Watson faces a tough task in the first round of the women’s singles.

The Sarnian star has been drawn against Nicole Vaidisova of the Czech Republic, who less than three years ago was ranked No. 7 in the world. The 20-year-old is now ranked 177th.
