WITH Ozzy Ozanne having already clinched the title at the previous meeting, the battle was on at Chouet for second place in the final points tally of the Winter Championship.

When Leeroy Sebire could only finish second in his heat to Dean Leaver, he effectively handed the runner-up spot to Callum Queripel.

The latter duly took another maximum 10 points and with it the second-place championship trophy after a coming-of-age season for him.

Sebire retained third overall, despite scoring only four points from this meeting.

Shane Le Poidevin continues to dominate the standard tyres races with two more victories.

His lead over Peter Rose is now 17 points, who is 12 ahead of Nathan Pinchemain.
