Traffic queues formed as the emergency services dealt with incidents at Forest Road and Rue des Coutures, St Martin’s.
A silver Volvo estate and a dark green Daihatsu hatchback collided outside the entrance to Channel Island Ceramics, Forest Road, shortly before 3.30pm. Both vehicles were extensively damaged on the front offside and one driver, a 63-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with an arm injury while a woman passenger in one of the cars was suffering from a medical condition.
Some 45 minutes later, a pale blue Ford Fusion and a burgundy Toyota Rav4 collided at the junction of Rue des Coutures and Les Escaliers.
Airbags were deployed in the Ford and the woman driver was taken to hospital, but was not thought to be seriously injured. The vehicles ended up pointing towards St Martin’s village.
