ANDY PRIAULX left Brazil frustrated that what promised to be an excellent opening weekend to the 2010 FIA World Touring Car Championship ended prematurely in the pits.

The Guernseyman, who had qualified sixth on Saturday, finished fifth in race one at the Curitiba track, but after the start of race two his BMW Team RBM car collided with Gabriele Tarquini’s Seat and ended up back in the pits with a broken front right wheel.

‘Overall, I’m disappointed with this outcome to the first race weekend of the season,’ Priaulx said.

‘I had a great start in race two, but then this collision with Tarquini happened.

‘It was just a touch, but enough to damage my car and throw me out of the race.

‘At least I managed to score some points in race one. But I could have scored a good result in the second as well.’
