Coach’s position interests Vance
Wednesday 10th March 2010, 2:30PM GMT.
ISLAND boss Tony Vance has thrown his name into the hat to be the coach of ‘Guernsey FC’.
The Guernsey Football Association confirmed on Monday that plans are in place to enter a team to play week in, week out, in the UK leagues.
A yet-to-be-named sponsor will fund the outfit, which will be a representative side that will sit above and be supported by the GFA clubs.
The clubs will also appoint the coach.
Vance (pictured) said he is keen to carry on managing the island side and take over the reins of Guernsey FC, if he is asked to.
‘From what I believe, that’s out of my hands because this team will be run by the clubs and not by the GFA,’ he said.
‘It’s up to them as to who they appoint. Would I be interested? The answer has got to be yes.’
