Rovers 1, Rangers 3
RANGERS booked their place in the Clydesdale Bank International Guernsey FA Cup final last night and they should have a couple of island players back to enhance their chances on the showpiece occasion.

Coach Paul Ockleford expects to have his son, Muratti midfielder Piers, as well as Guernsey goalkeeper Tom Le Tissier back from university for the Tuesday 6 April final and could also have Ollie Dowding and Arrian Green available.

Add those players to the spine of the side who beat Rovers yesterday at the Track and Bels or Athletics, who meet tonight at Blanche Pierre Lane in the second semi, will have their work cut out to lift the silverware.

‘It is a positive for the club,’ said Ockleford senior.

‘We got into a cup final last year, we are now in one this year and also still in the Stranger, so things are going in the right direction.

‘We had an influx of players this season – a few good signings – and that has made a big difference. We have a squad of around 25 now and it’s really pleasing.’
