IT IS not often that opposing managers will agree that the losing team should have won a match.

But that is exactly what happened after league leaders Bels put in a scrappy performance at Blanche Pierre Lane last night but still managed to get the better of an inspired Athletics.

‘It was rubbish, we were awful,’ said Bels boss Ian Champion.

‘We deserved to be punished, but we won the game.

‘I’m pleased to be in the final but I feel for Tics. They worked very hard.

‘We got what we got, but we need to play better than that.

‘It was not enjoyable at all. It was more level than 2-0.

‘They didn’t deserve to lose.’
