THE voters of tomorrow yesterday expressed their ideas on the issues of today.

More than 100 children took part in the Specsavers Primary Schools Congress.

In the third event of its kind, pupils came up with ideas to tackle world issues and aid the millennium development goals.

The students helped prepare letters that will be sent to Bailiff Sir Geoffrey Rowland and the director-general of the Royal Commonwealth Society explaining what they would like to do to support children in other countries.

Harry Giubileo, 10, said it was great that Guernsey had a primary schools congress, as children’s thoughts got heard and their ideas were taken to politicians.

Lewis Bourgaize, 11, agreed.

‘It’s also a chance to socialise with other children and get their thoughts on issues.’
