Beaucamps broadcasters show they’re a class act

LES BEAUCAMPS HIGH SCHOOL students were hailed as potential radio stars of the future after their performances for BBC Guernsey yesterday.
The Year 7 English class joined in with those from around 700 schools in the BBC School Report Day by researching, writing and then recording their own bulletins to be broadcast today, including a political interview with Education minister Carol Steere.
But the 11 and 12 year-olds thrived in the very real situation, dealing with the pressures of live voice recording and timing as well as technical hiccups.
‘It was nerve-racking but great fun,’ said news anchor Tom Schmiedhuber, 11.
‘I enjoyed it and am proud of myself and think we all did very well.’
