Simon SharrottTHE thread by which Guernsey’s rugby team’s promotion hopes hang could snap tomorrow.

Simon Sharrott’s men travel to second-placed Tottonians knowing that nothing but a win is good enough if they still want to harbour ambitions of playing in London One South next season.

‘We have spoken as a squad and realise that this is last chance saloon in terms of promotion and if we lose then we will only have ourselves to blame for not performing to our abilities,’ said the Guernsey captain (pictured).

‘The squad is looking good and everyone is confident that we can go to Totts and get the result we need and want.

‘It will start up front with the pack, this means that the tight five need to perform their primary duties of scrum, lineout, ruck and maul and we will have to set our stall out in the first five minutes. If we do that we can set the platform for our backs to play off.’
