Queen of Hard House hustles in on Fusion
Saturday 13th March 2010, 10:00AM GMT.
AFTER bringing Kate Lawler over in January, Hustle is returning to Fusion Saturday with crowned ‘Number One Female DJ’ Lisa Lashes.
Lisa’s first gig was on a boat in 1997 and it wasn’t long before her winning combination of great personality, skills and good looks got her on the mainstream DJ circuit.
From tearing up dancefloors under the Mediterranean sun of the White Isle to filling out stadiums in South Africa, partying it up in the Nordic seas on a huge ocean liner, or nostalgic nights at some of the UK’s most prestigious clubs, Miss Lashes has seen more of the party than most.
When not headlining at one of Europe’s top festivals such as Global Gathering, Creamfields and Dance Valley, or playing to her adoring fans at some of the UK’s biggest domestic nights including Godskitchen, Gatecrasher and Storm, Lisa’s musical adventure regularly sees her packing her suitcase and touring her style to another corner of the globe.
The huge popularity of the sell-out Lashed in Ibiza parties led to instant worldwide demand for Lisa and her Lashed brand, and marathonesque tours of the parties to China, Canada, the US, Netherlands, Russia, Australia, New Zealand and Japan resulted.
In 2005 alone she DJd in 30 different clubs in 10 countries in just two months, something claims is one of the greatest highlights of her career so far.
It wasn’t long before Lisa was officially recognised among the top 10 DJs in the world and achieved the illustrious title The World’s Number One Female DJ, making her the only female considered to be in the top 10 by DJ Magazine.
Away from her chaotic career behind the decks, she has also enjoyed huge success with her Euphoria albums. With sales amounting to well over 250,000, they were quickly established as the biggest selling hard-house compilations in the world – resulting in Lisa being nicknamed The Queen of Hard House.
Never one to sit back, her latest venture was the launch of her own record label, Lashed Music, in 2008.
It continues to go from strength to strength, picking up plays from a huge range of DJs around the world, loads of Radio One plays on Kutski and Judge Jules and the added kudos that many tracks were quickly licensed to numerous albums wordwide, including Q-Dance, Ministry of Sound, Tidy, Tunnel and D-Trance.
And considering Lisa’s quote on her website: ‘Rest assured that whatever I do, I do it hard and dirty; it’s my favourite way’, I think we’re in for a treat next Friday.
* Catch Lisa at Hustle Saturday with support from Tom Shearer. 10pm till 2am. Advance tickets £12 from www.fusion.gg, or door price £15 on the night.
