Search for Jonny spreads to coast

THE parents of missing Guernsey exchange student Jonny Dorey, pictured, headed to the Virginia coast yesterday in the hope their son might have visited a renowned biking track.

Police in the US state on Saturday ruled out the Belle Isle area of Richmond after completing a second search.

Friends, family and fellow Virginia Commonwealth University students are helping to search for the 22-year-old, who has been missing for almost two weeks.

The story featured heavily yesterday in UK national newspapers and TV stations including Sky News and ITV.

Spokesman Bob Beebe said the Dorey family are heading to the coast via a cycle track which leads through Williamsburg to Dorey Park in Henrico County, Virginia.
