The Salt Pans

Andrew Le Poidevin of tallpictures.com captured this view of the Saltpans redevelopment area, with the Guernsey Press car park in the left foreground, last year. The greenhouses on the right have since been demolished.

THE Guernsey Technology Park will attract high-end companies to the island, according to the first company to take space in it.

Long Port Group chairman Charles Billson announced at last week’s launch that Sentrum Solutions planned to develop a Guernsey operation.

The company currently has facilities totalling 1.2m. sq. ft, mostly in and around London, and is a major provider of data centre, disaster recovery and IT services.

Sentrum development director and partner Franek Sodzawiczny said construction of the Sentrum 7 facility would begin in about six weeks and he had nothing but praise for the development.

‘Becoming a central part of the Guernsey Technology Park is fantastic and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Charles Billson and the team at Long Port – it was their drive around this opportunity that played a pivotal part in our decision-making progress about the location,’ he said.
