Abarth in seventh heaven after feisty encounter

LE MONT SAINT ABARTH drew first blood over their Division One title rivals Prime Property Panthers in a feisty affair at Beau Sejour last night.
The most anticipated basketball match so far this season saw undefeated Abarth take on last year’s champions Panthers.
Abarth took an early lead which they never gave up no matter how much Panthers tried.
‘It was a hard fought game and both teams played with a lot of commitment,’ said Abarth and island stalwart Nigel Govett who, due to a broken nose picked up in a recent national league match, played the game wearing a face mask.
‘It came down to probably who could put the longest stretch of scoring together. Both teams played hard defence and they made scoring difficult.’
