Keith Granville: massive pub and property debts. (5732302)
A GUERNSEY entrepreneur and his wife have been ordered to repay debts of more than £1.5m. to a local bank.
Barclays Private International Bank Ltd requested judgement on three separate counts against Keith and Lisa Granville. The first is directly against the couple for £1.3m., the second trading as The Drunken Duck for £114,228.48 and the third against Meadowview Properties Ltd, of which Mr Granville is a director, for £149,134.01. Debts amount to £1.56m.
In the Royal Court, Bailiff Sir Geoffrey Rowland granted all three judgements with interest and costs.
He also ordered preliminary vesting orders on the first and third judgement to seize assets to the value of the debts, including any property.
The couple took over the lease of the Drunken Duck pub in La Charroterie around five years ago and changed the name to The Albert Arms.
That was sold in August last year when the name reverted to the Drunken Duck. In early January, judgement and costs was awarded to the Social Security Department against Mr Granville, trading as The Albert Arms, for £910.69 but there is no current connection between the couple and the St Peter Port pub.
