Guernsey 23, Twickenham 8
ONE more down, two to go.

Guernsey secured another crucial win at Foote’s Lane on Saturday, overcoming a potential banana skin in Twickenham even with a patched up backline that saw a return to first-team action for club chairman Carl Johnson, and their push for promotion remains on course.

Just a trip to London South Africa on Saturday and a home finale against Trojans on 10 April await Simon Sharrott’s men as they look to cement a top two place in London Two South-West.

The performance will have to improve – Sharrott gave the one against Twickenham a six out of 10 – but in fairness, they never looked in danger of losing this one and the only time their line was breached came with the final play of the game.

Generally, they got the job done in tricky, windy conditions and that was all they could ask for.
