GUERNSEY are ready for any potential penalty shoot-outs in an exciting climax to the season having learned from arguably the best in the business yesterday.

Matt Le Tissier was back on his old stamping ground at the Corbet Field to join Tony Vance’s island squad for a training session ahead of Saturday’s huge FA Carlsberg National League System Cup semi-final and to finish he gave the players a masterclass in penalty taking.

‘I enjoyed the session and hopefully I have put some good thoughts in the lads’ heads, especially if it comes to penalties. You need to be prepared for them,’ said ‘Le God’.

‘Mark [Le Tissier, GFA chairman and Matt’s older brother] keeps me informed about how Guernsey are getting on and I will be on the phone on Saturday hoping the lads can do the job.

‘There is no reason why they cannot win their semi-final and go on to win the whole thing. Positive mental attitude can take you a long way.’
