No licence, so Delta’s successors are off road

Monday 22nd March 2010, 11:30AM GMT.

Mike NewsomDELTA TAXIS’ successor firm is off the road.

This was confirmed over the weekend by former Delta MD Mike Newsom (pictured), who is now the new firm’s operations manager.

Ashdon Lyme Ltd received a letter from the Environment Department late on Friday saying it would not grant a temporary licence and, if it continued trading, it might be breaking the law.

All services were then suspended.

Delta Taxis was liquidated last Tuesday owing thousands but immediately started operating again as Ashdon Lyme.

It is still unclear when Delta assets were sold and when the licence was applied for.

    Hey Bart nice comment.

I was thinking maybe a door with some bars on would be in order… same goes for the windows.

I was wondering if it was possible to run a taxi company from prison, Im sure that nice Mr Deputy Baliff wouldnt mind (as long as we dont tell him).

hmmmm … having witnessed the ineptitude of island beurocrats over numerous recent issues now, I’m sure it won’t be long before the U turn happens and DELTA/Ashdon Lyme (or whatever name it settles upon) gets its licence!
