JUST 10 States members turned up for incinerator proposer Suez’s presentation to politicians yesterday.
All members were invited to a meeting at the OGH Hotel where deputies had the chance to put questions to company representatives. Another is being held today.
Deputy Jane Stephens was one of those who attended and said she was convinced Suez had offered the best solution for Guernsey.
‘I think the vote last month was a very big mistake. This week, we have an opportunity to put it right.’
Deputy Mike Hadley agreed and said Suez could already offer many of the solutions being put forward by environmentalists but they might not be suitable for the island.
However, many of the deputies the company needs to convince, if its proposals are to be reinstated in the States this week, said they would not attend the briefings.

Am I missing something here??
1) Incinerators require a certain amount of input to run efficiently.
2) If there is NOT enough rubbish to satisfy the incinerator then it becomes inefficient. (is this not the problem in Jersey?)
3) How then can Suez turn full circle and now say they will help us recycle as much waste as possible and help with info to do this??
Maybe because this is what people want to hear??
This would make incineration highly inefficient which is a complete contradiction to the argument for having one.
Anyone care to enlighten us.

I liked his quote about People Power bullying States members. Everytime he opens his mouth he puts his foot in it. Surely the idea of being a PEOPLES Deputy is to listen to those who got them where they are!!
