Secret Health deal with ‘bullied’ doctor
Tuesday 23rd March 2010, 2:29PM GMT.
A SECRET deal has been struck by Health and Social Services with a psychiatric doctor who is understood to have quit after allegations of bullying.
An employment tribunal was scheduled to take place yesterday at Les Cotils to hear complaints by Dr Isioma Nwokolo against the department but was called off.
Health failed to respond yesterday when asked what the cost to the taxpayer of the settlement was or the conditions involved.
It also failed to say whether the case was related to bullying and harassment, how long Dr Nwokolo had been employed for and when, or whether, she had been replaced.
Attempts to contact the complainant were unsuccessful.
A spokesman for the Commerce and Employment Department said that because an unfair dismissal process was confidential to both parties it would be inappropriate to comment.
