The BMW works-backed team is co-owned by US chat show host and motorsport fan David Letterman.
The Guernseyman looked safe in second place in the BMW M3 number 90 he shared with Dirk Muller and Joey Hand, before Muller spun at the final corner of the final lap and handed the position to sister car number 92.
The GT2 category was hotly contested between Ferrari, Porsche, BMW and Corvette, but a series of accidents decided the race in favour of Ferrari.
The two Corvettes crashed into each other in the pit lane, ending the hopes of Priaulx’s marathon-running buddy Oliver Gavin.
