Vance sends out an SOS to Drillot

Wednesday 24th March 2010, 2:30PM GMT.

Matt DrillotGUERNSEY boss Tony Vance has called up Matt Drillot for Saturday’s crucial FA Carlsberg National League semi-final with the Dorset Premier League.

The hard-hitting Bels midfielder (pictured) has been instrumental in his club winning this season’s Division One.

Drillot’s coach at the Track, Ian Champion, has been leading the calls for Vance to include him in his plans.

And with Drillot’s central midfield partner at Bels, Scott Bradford, pulling out of the island squad with a bad back, Vance has turned to Drillot.

‘He’s had a good season and he’s the in-form player,’ said Vance.

‘He deserves his chance. He’s not been involved with the island before and I’m looking forward to seeing how he fares.’
