The parents of Jonny Dorey, Debbie and Alan have made a video appeal for information on their son.

PERSONAL belongings found close to where Jonny Dorey, pictured, disappeared have been confirmed as his.

The find came on the same day as parents Alan and Debbie Dorey released an emotional appeal online for their son to get in touch.

Yesterday, police in Virginia, USA, said six items found by a member of the public were Mr Dorey’s. There are unconfirmed reports that one of them was his backpack.

Mr Dorey, 22, has been missing since 2 March. He was last seen wheeling his mountain bike away from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, where he was studying geography.

There were said to be 20 investigators as well as rescue boats and dive teams out on the James River widening the search for him.

The search is expected to continue today.
