THE Guernsey Ladies Rugby team take on Jersey United Banks Ladies RFC tomorrow in the BNP Paribas Securities Services Inter-Insular Challenge at Foote’s Lane.

The match, which kicks off at 1pm, will be the third between the two sides this season with Jersey winning the previous two, but with Guernsey improving between the two games.

Formed 12 months ago, the Guernsey Ladies have enjoyed a good first season, recruiting a number of players and raising the profile of women’s rugby on the island.

Collins Stewart Wealth Management/Sports Commission rugby development officer Geraint Cooper, who, along with Tim Pond, has coached the team, is looking forward to the game.

‘The ladies have been working hard over the past few weeks building to the game and we are positive we can get a good result,’ Cooper said.
