Guernsey rocked by Rihoy blow
Saturday 27th March 2010, 2:30PM GMT.
GGUERNSEY are going into their biggest match this year without their talisman Dave Rihoy (pictured) in the starting line-up.
Under the guise of the Guernsey Senior County League representative side, the island team take on the Dorset Premier League in the semi-final of the FA Carlsberg National League Cup at the Corbet Field this afternoon.
Two more wins and a place in Europe beckons for Tony Vance’s men.
Bels star Rihoy had been struggling with a dead leg that he sustained in his side’s victory over Rovers a fortnight ago which handed the Track side the Division One title.
The 25-year-old forward has failed to recover full fitness and will be on the bench.
‘He’s had an extremely good recovery but it’s just his match fitness,’ said island boss Tony Vance. ‘He’s not had any competitive football for two to three weeks. Basically I want to make sure everyone is fighting fit for the game but he’s an excellent sub to have.’
