LA VILLETTE GREMLINS are the new Image Group Premier Division champions.

Needing five frames against Gremlin Galacticos in the final match of the season to secure the title, La Villette got exactly that to depose the defending champions by just two points.

It did get a little bit close for comfort,’ said Skillett.

‘Basically, Martin Budge was getting beat on the next table and so I knew I had to take two frames against Paul. It was a tight finish – squeaky bum time.’

For the record, Trustum completed a 3-0 win and Le Sauvage took the final frame for a consolation 7-5 Galacticos victory, but the night – and the season – belonged to La Villette Gremlins with Desperques and Skillett both notching a half century of league frame wins.

Desperques topped the aggregates with 53 – three ahead of his teammate.
