Guernsey well placed for franchiser HQs
Tuesday 30th March 2010, 2:30PM BST.
GUERNSEY is perfectly placed to be the corporate headquarters for international franchise businesses, according to a UK-based expert in the sector.
Farrah Rose, director of international franchising at The Franchising Centre, the third-largest such consultancy company in the world, said the island had many advantages it could offer companies over other areas and regions.
Mrs Rose (pictured) was in the island presenting at a workshop organised by Commerce and Employment to outline to local businesses how they might be able to offer support services for franchise operations looking to run their global operations from the island.
‘In my view, Guernsey has the fiduciary, legal and the economic conditions and climate companies look for.
‘It also has political stability, good availability of quality staff, favourable employment law and, from my perception, low levels of bureaucracy and of course a favourable tax system.’
An effective and rapid company set-up system was also something it could offer, she added.
