HISTORY is about to be made with the Football Association confirming that the final of the prestigious FA Carlsberg National League System Cup will be held in the island.

The game will take place at the Track on Saturday 1 May, with a 6.30pm kick off.

It will be the first national final ever to take place away from the UK mainland.

Under the guise of the Guernsey Senior County League, the island side defeated the Dorset Premier League 3-2 in an electrifying match in front of more than 600 spectators at the Corbet Field at the end of last month.

Coach Tony Vance is hoping for another bumper crowd at the final.

‘Naturally I’m delighted that the final is going to be played here and I know the players will be too,’ he said.
