THE charity which installed a special swing for disabled children in Saumarez Park said it was sickened by Wednesday night’s vandalism.
The founders of the Wigwam Support Group found private funding last year for the specialist ‘Joe 90’ swing.
‘It’s just very sad,’ said co-founder Nickie Kerr. ‘We are sickened.
‘This equipment was put up last summer and everyone was really pleased to be able to use it. Now, no one can.’
Wigwam, which supports people involved with children with special needs, had plans to add more specialist equipment in the park.
In the summer, the group visits the playground every week.

Totally agree, sickening.
CCTV should be installed and used to make convictions.

Don’t think this only goes on in Guernsey. On the Continent not even Churchyards or graves are sacred. But someone knows who these yobs are,but none has the backbone to name ‘em!And when they are caught——–???????????
Unfortunately this park is targeted far more than is actually reported however this time these sick vandals (I’d like to use stronger words but wouldn’t get past the moderators) have got to be convicted and punished. Properly. None of this namby pamby “community service”. That’s no punishment.
Something has to be done as, after dark, the park is rife with undesirables. We mustn’t forget that there is also a residential home situated in the park grounds which is the home of a large number of elderly people. They also have the right to feel safe in their home.
