Guernsey 23, Trojans 12
GUERNSEY kept alive their hopes of reaching the promotion playoffs by beating Trojans by an 11-point margin at a sunny Foote’s Lane on Saturday, a result that left them hoping that rivals Tottonians could not improve on the local side’s points difference.

And, the good news from the UK, was that they could not, ‘Totts’ edging past Weybridge Vandals by just five points in a tight game at Weybridge.

Errors abounded throughout the Guernsey game and most of the match was played between the 22s with any penetrating attacks by either side few and far between.

Guernsey started the game with an impressive break by Jason Batiste only for Nick Barton to drop the ball with the visitors in disarray.

The second of two penalties in the opening minutes resulted in a lineout from which Dave Harvey took clean ball and was driven to within five metres of the Trojans line.
