THE first National Youth Summit came to a close yesterday.

The two-day event saw eight Guernsey students team up with counterparts from Newcastle, Bristol and Northamptonshire for the event at Marlborough House, London.

They were chosen from secondary schools across the island following their performance at a regional summit in February.

Discussions included millennium development goals with the high commissioners of India, South Africa and Canada.

Sixth form Grammar student Roisin Sullivan, 17, said the trip had been very enjoyable.
