On the opening day he came through a 73-minute epic against home player Gaurav Nandrajog 11-9, 11-8, 9-11, 11-6 before enduring a five-game marathon against Hong Kong’s Dick Lau 11-3, 11-13, 4-11, 11-0, 11-4 in the qualifying final.
