Sylvans 0, St Paul’s 1
ST PAUL’S completed an historic double as their women triumphed over Sylvans in the Women’s Upton at Northfield yesterday.

Less than 24 hours after their men’s side took care of Bels, the win was the first time the two trophies have ever been won by the same club in the same season.

And in truth, they never looked like losing. Only the excellence of Sylvans keeper Lauren Saunders and some erratic finishing kept the game alive as a contest throughout.

Caroline Queault was the first to test Saunders, but her strike was well turned away by the keeper’s feet.

With Jemma Daniel’s corners regularly finding their target in the six-yard box, more chances were inevitably going to come. But even when they did, St Paul’s seemed incapable of finding the back of the net.
