GUERNSEY Motor Cycle and Car Club are pleased Jenson Button will be moving to Guernsey.
Vice-president Marc Maubec said it could have a knock-on effect on local motor sport.
‘It’s nice for the island and it might put Guernsey more on the map, and encourage people to compete.’
Mr Maubec said he was not expecting people of Mr Button’s calibre to enter events such as the hill climb, but any exposure for local motorsport would be good.
‘It’s nice to see somebody like him moving to the island. He might pop down on a weekend.’
