The thoughts of chairman Roy were just that

Roy BissonTHE ‘chairman’ of the Guernsey Consumer Group has admitted he should not have issued a press release on behalf of the now dormant organisation.

Roy Bisson said he realised it was not appropriate after sending a statement to media outlets condemning critical comments made by the heads of Guernsey Post and Guernsey Electricity about the Office of Utility Regulation.

In the press release, Mr Bisson (pictured) said Gordon Steele and Ian Watson should be ‘ashamed and sacked’ after having a public row with the regulator.

However, after it came to light that the Guernsey Consumer Group had not held any committee meetings for several years and was now dormant, Mr Bisson came under heavy criticism for using the organisation’s name to air his personal views.

He has now admitted it was the wrong thing to have done.
