Junior British pair go through

GREAT BRITAIN’S two recent junior Grand Slam winners joined forces yesterday to reach the second round of the women’s doubles at the Dothan Pro Classic in Alabama.
Guernsey’s Heather Watson (pictured), last year’s US Open girls champion, combined with 2008 Wimbledon girls’ champion Laura Robson to beat American duo Abigail Spears and Coco Vandeweghe 6-4, 7-6.
They now face third seeds Edina Gallovits and Shenay Perry.
Watson plays her second round singles encounter with Evgeniva Rodina today at the ITF $50,000 clay-court tournament.
