THE man they call Psycho could be renamed Ice Man as he showed tremendous composure to ensure Guernsey regained the inter-insular team title on Saturday night.

Paul Le Sauvage, aka Psycho, was grateful that teammate Adrian Lihou had stepped up to the plate at the crucial time for the Sarnians in winning both of his tight frames against Steve McCrimmon in the penultimate game of the night to put the hosts on the brink of victory at the Gremlin Club, but he still had to get them across the line.

He and Jeremy Gogan took to the table at 11.25pm with Guernsey holding a 5-3 advantage.

The Jersey player, though, settled well and looked on the cusp of building a decent break when, much to his own disbelief, the pink settled in the jaws of a corner pocket and failed to drop.
