MICK LE GALLIC has one of the truly outstanding records in any inter-insular sporting competition.

It stands at having played 12 Jerseymen, won 11 and, after his victory over Kenny Horton on a dramatic night at the KGV, those 11 victories have come on the trot.

But despite his own consistency in the annual darts ‘Muratti’ Le Gallic said he could not have had a better man than Jason Allez to call on as the match arrived at 4-4 with one rubber to be played.

‘I had a little chat with Jason before he went on and I told him the way he has been playing the last couple of years I don’t think we could have had anyone better.’

Allez overcame a slow start to beat the gallant Phil Speak 3-2 in the deciding 501 leg and the trophy stayed in Guernsey.
