A MAN who locked his teeth onto the end of another person’s nose for between 30 seconds and a minute claims he did so in self-defence.

In the Royal Court yesterday, Joe de Garis denied wounding Nathaniel Robilliard with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and an alternative count of maliciously wounding him.

The charges relate to an incident that occurred in Baloo’s Bar, Fountain Street, late on the night of Friday 18/Saturday 19 December.

Mr de Garis also denies a single count of assault – an allegation that he punched Mr Robilliard in the face at the top of the stairs to the bar.
