A RECORD entry of 28 horses, including a first from France, have been declared for Monday’s big annual race meeting at L’Ancresse.
‘We are three up on last year, so we are delighted with the entries,’ said organiser Trevor Gallienne shortly after yesterday’s declaration deadline.
And as well as confirmation of the French entry, Derringbay, punters at the May Day meeting can look forward to seeing eight runners in the second race of the day, the S. G. Hambros Handicap.
‘That represents the biggest field for one race since the sport was resurrected five years ago,’ added Gallienne, who is excited by the prospect of a great afternoon’s racing, especially as the weather seems to be set fair.’
