A GUERNSEY woman is missing in Kazakhstan after falling into a river.
Sheila Paine, 67, has not been seen since Monday afternoon when she slipped and fell into a fast-flowing river at a national park.
Search teams were deployed almost immediately, but they have yet to find the woman.
Mrs Paine, a mother of four, has worked at the Guille-Alles Library for 16 years within the schools library service.
‘We are all still very much in a state of shock over mum’s accident and anxiously await news from Kazakhstan,’ said her son Josh, who lives in Guernsey.
