HISTORY may not be on our side, but form very definitely is and Tony Vance’s men head to Springfield this afternoon with spirits sky high.
Guernsey make just one change to the side that secured a marvellous NLS Cup win over Liverpool last weekend, with Bels’ Matt Drillot winning his first cap at the expense of his injured club colleague, Scott Bradford.
Vance has banned all talk of Croatia and ordered his men to cut out the sloppy goals which threatened to cost us along the NLS Cup run and, further back, last year’s Island Games final and Muratti showdown.
There won’t be an NLS Cup hangover and his men are not mentally drained, insisted the island coach.
‘The first thing we told them at training on Monday is that the party is over and we have banned all talk of Croatia.’
