A ROSS ALLEN penalty completed a perfect week for Guernsey on Saturday.
The first Muratti victory for five years at Springfield on Saturday was just desserts for Tony Vance’s side, who showed all the cohesion you would expect of a team who have just won a national competition this season, too.
The manager admitted after the 1-0 victory over the old enemy that the Greens’ momentum ‘had just kept going’.
‘To be fair, that has happened since the 5-0 over the Isle of Man in the bronze medal match at the Island Games,’ Vance said.
‘The players have got tremendous mental strength and have worked really hard – harder than most people outside the group would realise. The guys have got their just rewards.’
