GIAAC returned from the Hampshire Championships with a haul of 34 medals including 10 golds after two days of competition in difficult conditions.
The highlight for the club will have been the performances of some of the younger, developing athletes, especially Ross Hanley and Leo Rice.
Both were competing in strong fields with the best from top clubs including Southampton and Portsmouth.
Hanley will be pleased to have won gold in both the triple jump and long jump events and, with warmer conditions and some intensive training over the next few months, Dale Garland’s Guernsey junior triple jump record is in sight.
Hanley also took a bronze in the under-17 400m and was just beaten into second place in an exciting high quality 200m.
