‘Big Fal’ excited by future

Saturday 15th May 2010, 2:30PM BST.

Colin FallaizeTHE most popular and respected man in football has urged Guernsey football to back Guernsey FC all the way.

‘If we were to let the chance go it would be the worst thing Guernsey football has ever done,’ said Colin Fallaize, the assistant island coach and St Martin’s manager.

The man who played in 19 Murattis between 1975 and 1987 and has since coached the Muratti side, is passionate in his belief that the whole community – football, fans and business – should get behind the idea of a Guernsey side being formed to play week in, week out, on the national league ladder.

Fallaize (pictured), ‘Big Fal’ to many, said he would be proud to produce St Martin’s players to feed the island side in England, even if that meant his club’s chances of glory domestically were affected.

‘I would see it as a privilege and an honour to produce players for Guernsey.’
