£6 an hour is just not enough, says Fallaize

GUERNSEY’S proposed minimum wage is too low, a deputy has claimed.
Vale’s Matt Fallaize (pictured) has criticised Commerce and Employment’s report in this month’s Billet d’Etat and is considering taking an amendment to the States debate on its propositions for a £6 minimum wage for adults working in the island.
However, he expressed doubt over whether such a move would be worthwhile and said he would gauge the level of support first.
‘This £6 per hour is a very low base to start from,’ he said.
‘I think the report is a bit light on evidence – the figures they have concluded seem to be fairly arbitrary and I am not overly enamoured with it being set below Jersey’s.’

seems to me that the workers are still going to pay for the mess that the financial industry is in on a world wide bias.
Little wonder that the workers are rioting in the streets around the world,we are stumbling towards our next financial stuff up….. greed is good long live Thatcher…..
