Another turn in row over ‘Upton’

A GUERNSEY referee could be in difficulties after the post under-16 ‘Upton’ row took another turn.
Ian Drillot (pictured), widely recognised as a top island official, passed up the opportunity to be a referee’s assistant in the Kleinwort Benson Muratti Vase final at Springfield, unhappy that Jersey’s football authorities had done nothing after he came in for criticism from First Tower under-16 manager and former Muratti striker, Simon Petulla.
Petulla criticised the standard of Guernsey refereeing following his team’s 3-1 defeat by North, which had six players cautioned while Tower had one sent off for head-butting an opponent.
The Tower boss told the Jersey Evening Post following the game that the Guernsey officials were ‘terrible’ and ‘unbelievably biased’ towards their team.

Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Question: Did Ian Drillot criticise the Jersey manager or his team for his teams unruly behavior and the manger for his teams poor football, I think not: So why should he Simon Petulla make such comments which do not show a very good example to young players. I hope the GFA & the JFA sanction this manage who clearly is a poor looser and has let his team down in my estimation as an ex referee.
