THE big guns have once again done the business for L’Ancresse Golf Club.
A potentially difficult Bailiwick final of the Hampshire Sevens against Alderney yesterday was overcome in fine style with several of the club’s elite players showing excellent form ahead of Island Championship week.
A delighted LGC captain Eric Legg acknowledged that home advantage had a role in the 5.5-1.5 victory, but that did not take anything away from how his team played.
‘I was relieved to have won the toss [for home advantage] and we decided to put out the most experienced team available – and it proved to be the right decision,’ he said.
‘They have all done very, very well.’
