JUST five days after he was burning up the L’Ancresse golf course, all-rounder James Hamon was showing his ball handling skills in a trial football match for Southampton.
The 14-year-old, who won the handicap section of last weekend’s big 36-hole golf competition with a startling two-under par gross 68, played 90 minutes for Southampton Academy under-15s in a 4-0 win over Yeovil Town at Marchwood on Thursday.
‘He did really well,’ reported his St Martin’s under-16 football coach, James Le Gallez.
‘They want to get him back in July and get him in for a whole week and he will play and train with them,’ added Le Gallez, who accompanied the player alongside James’s father, Chris, the former Muratti keeper.
